How to Create the Perfect Morning Dog Routine

In the US, we love our pets. In fact, there are 90 million dogs living in family homes.

You’ve likely seen the trend on social media of planning out your morning routine so that you feel refreshed and ready to face your day. But, what about your pooch?

Have you considered your dog’s morning routine? Here is a great dog routine so that you can set both you and your pup up for a brilliant day!

Set an Alarm Every Day for You and Your Furry Best Friend

Dogs are lovers of routine and true creatures of habit. So, start your morning at the same time every single day to keep your pup happy.

Set an alarm to wake both you and your pooch up at the same time, even on weekends. We’re betting that when you start doing this, your dog’s body clock will wake them up and let you know about it!

Work Out With Your Pup

First thing’s first, it’s time to take Fido out for a walk! Your pooch needs to stretch its legs before their long day of … napping and eating.

Better yet, this is a good time for a quick toilet break. Make sure you take poop bags and a ball with you!

Your morning walk can be a quick stroll with plans for a long walk in the afternoon. Remember to include lots of regular playtimes, walking, and training into your doggie’s day.

It’s best to break up your dog’s exercise, so they don’t get too tired and are mentally stimulated throughout the day. The length of time your dog needs to be walked depends on their breed; check out this useful infographic.

Meet Friends at the Dog Park

Humans need to socialize, and it’s just as important for dogs too! Head out to your local dog park and let your pup hang out with their friends.

Playing with other dogs is a great way to burn off some energy and start the day right. Meanwhile, you can chat with human companions about your pups. Win, win!

Prepare Your Breakfast and a Dog Breakfast

When you’re back home, it’s time for breakfast. Your pooch deserves a delicious meal after getting in some exercise and socializing.

So do you! Make sure you start the day right with a delicious serving of granola, fruit, or toast. And don’t forget to include a cup of coffee made with the best coffee.

Begin Your New Dog Routine Tomorrow

After starting a new daily dog routine, you’ll notice that you feel more energized. Getting outside early in the morning will kick away the cobwebs and enable you to work more efficiently.

Your pup will also be happy until the next walkies, so you won’t need to worry about taking them out while you’re in the middle of your work.
